The contest drew 8 foreign teams (2 from China, 2 from Singapore, 1 each from Hong Kong, Japan and Korea) and 41 teams from Taiwan. Although some Universities sent more than 1 team to the contest, the final standings showed that the top 5 teams are all from different Universities. The fact that those top 5 teams only differs in one problem solved, indicates that the top teams from all the Universities are quite competitive.
