Westfield State College User Account Policy

A. The user account is not transferable. Its usage is to be
confined to the person to whom it was issued.

B. Access to the computer resources is granted for the express
purpose of allowing users to perform activities authorized
by the college. Other activities are permitted provided:

i) They do not interfere in any substantial way with the
accomplishment of activities explicitly authorized by the
college.

ii) They do not violate other provisions of this Acceptable
Use Policy.

iii) They do not violate applicable State or Federal laws or
regulations, including but not limited to restrictions on the
dissemination of pornography, the dissemination of information
for the purposes of carrying out criminal activities, or the
prohibition of the use of State owned equipment for commercial
purposes.

C. Any attempt to interrupt or damage the operation of any WSC
computer system through the access granted by the user account,
shall result in the immediate termination of access privileges
as well as appropriate legal action.

D. Any attempt to acquire information stored on any WSC system,
other than that declared as public information or information
stored by the permitted user, shall constitute a violation of
the laws of the Commonwealth and will be subject to legal action.
