From Raewyn Boersen, South Pacific Regional Contest Director:

"Thank you all for your patience. We have dealt with all matters arising from the contest and we are able to accept the provisional placings as being final.

We would like to congratulate all teams on their performance and in particular the top Australian team, Team ADA from UNSW and the top NZ team, Void, from Auckland University who will represent the South Pacific Region at the International Finals in Hollywood USA, next March.

I think that you will all agree that it was a challenging and well written problem set and it was heartening to see the number of teams who solved 5 or more problems. We hope that you will be back again next year for more challenges. "

South Pacific Region Contest Date Set

Preliminary discussions at organising committee's meeting in Canberra (see below) proposed a number of dates as possible for the 2002 ACM South Pacific Region's contest date. This date has now been set as the 21st September.

Annual ACM Meeting Held

Posted 18 July.

The Annual ACM South Pacific Region Organising Committee met at the Australian National University at Canberra during the weekend of the 6-7th of July. Representatives of all 9 local sites attended and various issues were discussed and resolved including local rule interpretations, marketing promotional activities and training and coaching issues.
Canberra was a bit on the chilly side at this time of year but, notwithstanding the weather, the meeting was deemed a success.
